Ea Wei & Patriana’s Wedding – 27th September 2008

I know I must be about the worst person to rely on when it comes to documenting things. So here, the long awaited EWPP post-wedding reviewJ

Ea Wei and I have been good friends for a few years now. It’s really about a year now that from my friendship with Ea Wei that I also got to know Patriana. And honestly, as hectic as the day was for the both of you, you both managed to get through the day with this ‘gleam’ in your eyes, and to be honest, I’ve never seen a happier Pat, and such a nervous Ea Wei.

I have to admit though; this couple has got to be about the hardest couple to read. I remember exactly a month before the KL wedding was to take place that I caught up with Ea Wei on whether he needed help, I thought they had already sorted out things (they had ZERO signs of panic). Well, I thought I’d instill some panic for them *wink* only to find out that the following still needed to be done:

1) 1st booking deposit for the hotel
2) Dinner menu selection
3) Negotiations with the hotel
4) Decorations, props, table arrangements
5) Banquet management
6) Lunch catering
7) Overall Logistics
8) Music and IT

So here goes...

Equatorial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

The Grand Ballroom, done ala Urban Fairy

Pat and Ea Wei NEVER revealed any tell-tales of stress or panic. Even on their wedding day, Pat looked extremely composed and ready, and positively elegant.

I had one month to do my absolute best for the couple, so I hope I gave them the wedding of their dreams, and that off they will never forget:)

Congrats again you guys!!

The Many Dresses of The Fussy Bride

I've been pestered for yonks from some of the friends who attended my wedding dinner to share with them pictures of my dresses from the wedding.

Okay, I'm a sucker for fashion; unfortunately great clothes hardly ever come with a great price tag (I don't understand why can't beautiful dresses be cheaper?), so I opted for 3 gowns from Eric Choong (genius!) and here they are:-

Le Wedding Gown

A sweetheart tubed top adorned with Swaroski Crystals on French Lace Hand-trimmed pieces. I opted for a removable sleeved-train, for the Church as Catholics tend to get quite picky with the over-exposures of flesh, and to finish the look, a fish netted short veil, also with Crystals and Lace, for drama.

My Green Gown.

Green, not any green, but a leaf vibrant green, is my favourite colour, hence the 3 layers of chiffon and silk gown, also embedded with Swaroski's. I wanted a Chinese-inspired gown instead of wearing the standard smendard Cheong Sam, so Eric added a green brocade belt to imply 'tradition' with and edge.

The Purple Gown

My last outfit, courtesy from Eric's Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. A toga umpire dress made out of twists of chiffon, and layers of material, ending with a slight train scoop at the back. Didn't unfortunately get any fabulous pictures of this dress (we got drunker), but I'll hope to reappear in this dress for his catwalks next year:)

So ladies, rate your favourites. Eric needs to know:)

The Fussy Bride's Wedding Chip San Leong

Well, I thought I'd also post up some funny pictures from the tea ceremony at my house; after all, we DID have loads of fun in the morning, and to be honest, I kinda felt bad for the guys ('kinda' being the operative word) as they probably got a culture shock from meeting my group of serious mafia bachelorettes.

I'm serious, they had actually plotted for the guys to eat cockroaches, and suck nipples, but in the interest of time (I had very anxious family members waiting downstairs to be served sweet tea), many of the best laid plans were laid off. Maybe we could try that for our kid's wedding eh?

So here we go..

My Entourage - plotting their schemes and in busy preparation for the day's events. Look how Tsui Han looks like a 'Tai Kar Cher' in the pix above:)
Terri's Entourage Vs. Nate's Entourage.

The Happy Happy faces of malice and revenge against the male-kind.

This is bout the only place you'd EVER see the bedsheets done SoooOooo quickly.
Maybe we should've gotten them to do ALL our rooms too?
Potential Clients, if you want to execute this kinda trick next time, I'm riggghhtt on it.
Just make sure you state it in our agreement - 'ALL ROOMS', 'VERY MESSY' and 'VERY LAZY':)

The final few obstacles....

My mom actually suggested the most meaningful thing, whereby the guys had to collect a total of 8 roses - ala 8 obstacles, and finally present them all to me, signifying that Nate's been around, seen enough, and found me.
THE END. Boo Hoo..

And finally, the entire Bridal party:)

The Fussy Bride's Wedding

Well, I guess the first thing I should share with you is on how my wedding went. Funny how when it comes to documenting my own wedding, all I've been getting are blurs; probably because it's either I remember too much, or it all just happened so quickly and BEING the pivotal person in it doesn't help you remember details.

I guess it takes someone else who's seeing it from an outer picture, to sometimes tell you how it all went... So this part of the documentation,....

I'll leave it up to my friends to add in the details... Guys???

Email your posts to thefussybride@gmail.com

This also is good, for I will NEVER admit how fussy I was about things. One can only be THAT honest about their fussiness.

So whilst my friends crack their heads thinking of the best possible ways to describe my wedding and their roles in it, I'm going to share my wedding with you in a visual form. Here's a collection of my favourite pictures from my wedding, depicting everyone's stress and frenzy, laughter and emotions, and relief it's all over, but thoroughly enjoyed and remembered:)

Pictures are courtesy of Anna-Rina, and Yeahway.

The morning tea ceremony. Seeing that Red is the colour that the Chinese celebrate to, my Mom, Aunt Maggie and myself thought it was only appropriate that the house be decked in Red (besides, it matches my Cheong Sam ala Chinese restaurant waitress)

The I wanted the church to match my Bridesmaids (who all had to wear yellow - believe me, wasn't easy convincing them until they saw the dresses:) ). Besides, I went to a church wedding recently whereby the couple hadn't done much decoration, and I must say, I really wanted to make this moment all bright and happy and what best with Yellow?
Which also happens to be my favourite colour at the moment.

The beautiful dinner reception at Prince Hotel. The name of the theme, however, changes from time to time, from 'Colourful Blooms', 'Garden Blossoms', 'The Four Colours of Love', etc. The theme evolved around 4 primary colours of Red, Yellow, Blue and Purple, and enveloped by the white/cream.. of which the hall was sectioned into 4 sections of the respective colours.

I'd like describe it as my husband and me. How he's the white (as pure and straight as an arrow), and I'm the colour (the drama queen) and with the right doses of each, can make a beautiful marriage. (It's actually because I couldn't decide on the colours and I wanted everything).

See, anything's possible!

The Main Table is a winner and definately the best everyone's ever seen, courtesy to Mrs. Maggie Lee.

Love the Wedding. Definately the best I've been to.
